Green Light Textile collects used textiles, sorts them and prepares them for a second use more than 20 years. In addition, the Green Light Textile works with businesses that recycle textiles in sustainable and diverse ways.
Approximately half of the textiles collected by the Green Light Textile are prepared for reuse as clothing through a meticulous selection procedure. Once the textiles have gone through the selection process, the customer has a choice of around 300 different items in 2 to 5 different qualities. Depending on the quality, the clothing is packed into plastic bags or compressed into bales. It is then loaded into containers and sent on its way to a second life elsewhere in the world.
How to order
Over 70% of the global population has a demand for used clothing and textiles. The Green Light Textile has a wide global network of customers and meets their needs by supplying a range of qualities of clothing and textiles for reuse.
Here too, the Green Light Textile contributes substantially to the local economy and employment situation. The clothing is sold by the sorting company to a wholesaler, who then in turn sells the bales to a merchant or market trader who sells the items of clothing separately from his market stall. In this way, a single bale of second hand textiles can provide work and an income for 7-8 people locally.
